  Bob Brown, CAAM, President/Owner

Bob began his career as a banker in California starting with Lloyd’s of London in 1982 and concluding with Wells Fargo in 1996. During that timeframe, Bob held positions in Commercial Banking, Marketing, and Systems and Operations with an increasing level of responsibility and authority. Bob launched Brown Community Management in 1996 with a simple vision to keep the promises you make. The company began by managing several small homeowners associations and rental properties.Within a few short years, Bob was working with many larger associations and assisting several homebuilders and developers with transition management. This led to continued and controlled year over year growth of over 30% in the past 10 years. Bob specializes in transition management and serves on the Legislative and Professional Standards Committee as a Board Member for the Arizona Association of Community Managers (CAAM®) and is a Certified Arizona Association Manager.

 


Lori Loch-Lee, PCAM, AMS, CMCA, CAAM, Senior Vice President

Lori has 17 years of customer service experience in the retail industry working with several well known retailers. Desiring a new challenge, she found her niche in community management in 1999 starting as a portfolio manager and navigating toward Senior Executive Management. This progression has allowed her to participate in an industry that she has developed a passion for. Lori enjoys being a part of making a difference in people’s lives both personally as well as professionally. Lori earned her PCAM designation in 2004 through the Community Associations Institute (CAI) and earned her CAAM certification in 2006 with Arizona Association of Community Managers. Lori is a very active member of CAI. She is also a member of National Faculty, NBC-CAM Item Writing Committee and the Association of Professional Community Managers (APCM) showing her dedication to the professionalism of the community management

  Bill Brown, CAAM, Chief Financial Officer 

With a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Arizona State University and seventeen years of experience as a financial supervisor, manager, and director for several financial institutions Bill serves as an invaluable resource to the Brown Management team. He has spent the last twenty years serving on HOA Boards of Directors in various positions, including Board President. Additionally, he has managed a portfolio of investment properties since 1998.  His background also includes substantial work in the financial industry, as well as extensive experience with portfolio analysis in the collection industry.  His vast experience and problem-solving skills offer insights into each of our communities needs.

  Vanya Smith, CAAM, Vice President of Management Services

Vanya is a beacon of stability for the Brown Management team, utilizing her expert skills in conflict resolution throughout our corporate functions.  She comes to us with a background in Real Estate, Title and Escrow as well as Sales and Marketing Management.  She has utilized her experience and talent for the past seven years, serving the various roles of an HOA Board of Directors, including Board President.  Vanya is certified by the Arizona Association of Community Managers and proudly holds the title of a Certified Arizona Association Manager.  Vanya serves on the Homeowners Outreach Program Enterprise (HOPE) committee through AACM, reaching out to those within a community in need of financial and/or maintenance assistance.  Her guiding leadership and thoughtful outlooks provide Brown Community Management with a great outlook and opportunity for the future of the community management industry.

   

 

Matthew Bertozzi, CAAM, Vice President of Management Services

Matt joins out team with extensive experience in the property management field.  In his more than nine years experience in the industry, he has worked extensively with a range of clients including single-family homeowner associations, PUDs, condominiums, developers, and master planned associations.  Matt is a Certified Arizona Association Manager (CAAM) through AACM.  Matt graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management from Arizona State University.  Additionally, Matt is currently working towards his PCAM through CAI.  With this incredible store of knowledge and experience, Matt is a valuable asset to both the communities he serves and to our company.

Tim Macica, CAAM, Senior Community Consultant

Tim comes to Brown Community Management with over 13 years experience in customer service and management.  He attended the State University in New York at Potsdam and studies Ecomonics and Management.  Tim's work experience in finance and banking have developed strong communicative and organizational skills, high customer-relation satisfaction, finance, management, inter-personal relationships, and problem solving abilities.  Tim currently serves as the President of his community's HOA Board of Directors and is a CAAM certified Community Manager through AACM.

Kara Cutler, CAAM, Community Consultant

Kara is a Certified Arizona Association Manager through the AACM. She began her career in the Community Management Industry in 2006. She is experienced as a department manager, supervisor, trainer and team leader. Kara has a strong passion for excellence with exceptional organizational and problem solving abilities. Her excellent verbal and written communication skills have enabled her success as an Association Manager.

Tonya Davis, Community Consultant

Tonya comes to Brown Management with over 13 years of customer service and management experience.    She has worked primarily in the logistics field, handling high profile accounts to ensure complete satisfaction of multi-million dollar accounts.  Tonya is a native to Arizona; she grew up and went to college here.  Her studies included business management and psychology.  Tonya is currently working toward her CAAM certification through AACM.

Maury Ellerbusch, CAAM, Community Consultant

Maury brings to us a wealth of knowledge and experience, having over six years in the real estate industry and over 10 years management experience in finance and other industries.  His exceptional interpersonal skills and problem solving abilities allow him to exceed expectations while serving his communities. Maury is a certified CAAM through AACM.

Michele Fairchild, CAAM, Community Consultant

Michele has been a Community Consultant for more than 10 years as a portfolio manager and has strong customer service and organizational skills.  Prior to becoming an HOA community consultant she managed apartment communities across the Valley for more than 6 years.  Michele is a CAAM certified Community Manager through AACM.

Merlene Faust, CAAM, Community Consultant

Merlene has been in the service of helping others most of her life.  She has 35 years of experience in customer service.  She began her propety and community management career in New York as a fill-in for the Owners of a High-rise and fell in love with the career.  Upon moving to Arizona, she worked with an apartment management company and successfully managed more than 16 apartment communities as Regional Manager, in five states.  She helped facilitate and train community managers at her previous company and continues  to be influential in her current role.  She shifted careers to HOA management and was employed by a reputable HOA management firm and is experienced in managing Developer transitions, High-rises, Single-family home communities and condominiums.  Merlene is a CAAM certified Community Manager through AACM.

Denise Frazier, PCAM, CAAM, Community Consultant

Denise began her career in the Apartment Management industry over 20 years and has since expanded her horizons to include Single family, Condominium and Master Planned Community Management.  She achieved her PCAM certification from The Community Associations Institute and more recently, her CAAM certification from the Arizona Association of Community Managers.  Due to her diverse background, Denise is able to effectively cultivate the “team” environment by bringing the Management Company, the Board of Directors and the Association vendors together for the common goals and enhancements of the communities with which she works.

Mauri Freedle, Community Consultant

Mauri comes to Brown Management with 13 years of management experience.  She attended Robert Morris College in Pennsylvania studying marketing.  She has strong communicative, organizational and problem solving skills, as well as a high customer service satisfaction.  She is currently serving on her own communitys HOA Board of Directors as President.  Mauri is currently working toward her CAAM certification through AACM.

John Gibbons, CAAM, Community Consultant

John received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Brigham Young University and worked for 14 years as a controller and producer in a commercial insurance brokerage. His extensive experience in customer service, risk management,and accounting gives him practical insights into many of the issues commonly faced by homeowners associations.

Don Higdon, CMCA, AMS, Community Consultant

Don joins Brown Community Management with over 18 years of experience in property management having worked with associations ranging in size from 7 to 7000 units.  He began his career in leasing and marketing for apartment communities and progressed through the industry including on-site management for large scale country club, active adult, and master planned communities.  He holds or has held numerous state and national industry credentials including:  Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) issued by NBC-CAM, Association Management Specialist (AMS) issued by CAI, Licensed Community Association Manager issued by the State of Florida, Certified Community Association Manager issued by the State of Nevada, and Certified Arizona Association Manager (CAAM) issued by AACM.

 

Shelly Klie-Buckee

Shelly Klie-Buckee is a very skilled and capable professional who comes to Brown with over 16 years of diversified experience in property and community management. In addition to her experience in management, Shelly is a Certified Paralegal, former court-appointed Receiver's Assistance and has a background in construction and developement. Shelly has served on the Board of Directors in her own community which helps her to understand the commitment it takes to ensure the success of a property and maintaining a balance of harmony with the community.

Rex Nielson, CAAM, Community Consultant

Rex has been involved in HOA management since 2008.  Rex is a multi-faceted, detailed individual who joins our team with a diverse background.  Rex studied business management at Northen Arizona University and owned his own business for 7 years.  Rex has over 5 years experience in the real estate and mortgage industry.  His experience and knowledge help to effectively support his communities.  Rex is a Certified Arizona Association Manager through AACM.

Krystal Pocs, CAAM, Community Consultant

Krystal comes to Brown Management with four years experience as an onsite manager for a luxury high-rise property.  She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Northern Illinois University and an Arizona Real Estate license.  Krystal has extensive experience in retail management and spent several years over seeing guest services at two luxury fashion centers in Phoenix.  She has served on the Board for her own community and is a CAAM Certified Community Manager through AACM.

Celinda Salas, CAAM, Community Consultant

Celinda has over four years experience in the property and community management industry.  Celinda is continually proving herself as a team player with intentions of exceeding customer and employer expectations.  Celinda has enriched herself with knowledge in every aspect of HOA management enabling her to become a successful Community Consultant.  Celinda oversaw the Architectural Submittal and Escrow Department for her first couple of years in the community management industry before taking on her role as a Community Consultant.  Celinda is a CAAM certified Community Manager through AACM.

Wanda Simeona, CAAM, Community Consultant

Wanda has a CAAM and a CMCA in community management.  She also has a Bachelors Degree in Business Management.  She has experience as a portfolio manager of both large and small communities, condominium and single family homeowner association; and she has worked with developer controlled communities, transitioning them to HOA control.  She also has 25 years experience in the legal industry with 3 years in HOA law.

 

 

Wendi Terlaan, CAAM, Community Consultant

Wendi is a Community Consultant with more than 13 years experience in the community management industry.  She is a CAAM certified Community Manager through AACM.  Prior to joining Brown Community Management, Wendi developed exceptional property management skills at two highly regarded real-estate and property management companies in the Valley.  Wendi has extensive experience with large and small condominiums, as well as, working with municipalities on a multitude of fronts including transitioning common area potable water to reclaimed water.

Christina Weigman, CAAM, Community Consultant

Christina is a Community Consultant with more than four years experience in the community management industry.  She is a CAAM certified Community Manager through AACM.  Christina began her career in an accounting role where she produced financial statements, ran A/R and A/P and worked on collections for a multitude of communities.  Christina's background in customer service, community management, accounting and marketing has enabled her to successfully manage various communities throughout Arizona.

 

 

Laura Whitson, CAAM, Community Consultant

Laura began her career in the community management industry in 2007.  Laura graduated from Pepperdine University with a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts.  She has 10 years of customer service and sales experience in two very different industries.  Due to her diverse background, Laura is able to communicate effectively with a variety of people and learn new things quickly.  Laura has recieved her CAAM through Arizona Association of Community Managers, and currently serves on the Events Committee for the Association.

Kathy Laninga, CAASP, Customer Care Director

Kathy joined the Brown Management team in 2007 as an experienced leader and professional with more than twenty-five years managing complex operations within financial institutions.  She has an extensive background directing operations in Customer Service, Recovery, Accounting, Vendor Management, and Project Management.  As the Customer Care Director, Kathy works with her staff to ensure that all customers contacting Brown Management receive professional and timely communication and resolution on Accounting and Collecting issues.  In addition, Kathy has drawn on her impressive background in debt collections to develop an effective and unique recovery program that maximizes our clients' return on delinquent accounts.

Jake Ball, Lead Property Accountant

Jake has been involved in the property management field for over nine years; five of those years specifically related to HOA accounting.  Jake has a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Arizona State University.  Jake worked briefly as a stock broker before getting into accounting, property management, and then ultimately property management accounting.

 

Kara Dalmacio, Property Accountant

With more than six years experience in the property management industry Kara is an asset to the Brown Management team.  She has extensive experience in the field of accounting including serving as manager of her department for a number of years before taking time off to start a family.  Her experience and expertise in property management accounting make her a valuable asset to the communities she serves as well as everyone around her.

 

Becka Lambert, Property Accountant

Becka came to Brown Management to obtain another skill set of hands on accounting in order to pursue my life dream of becoming a Certified Public Accountant.  She comes to us with 16 years of experience in various fields of accounting and management duties. Becka has an - M.B.A. through the University of Phoenix online accelerated program graduating with a 3.8 G.P.A.

 

Tracie Alvarez, Accounts Payable & IT Specialist

 

Tracie is a graduate student at Arizona State University with a Bachelor of the Arts in English with an emphais in Literature.  Prior to joining Brown Community Management she spent five years working in customer serive oriented jobs in a number of industries.  She enjoys problem solving, is detail oriented, and communicates effectively with a variety of people. 

 

Janet Canova, Accounts Payable Associate

Janet has worked as a bookkeeper and administrative assistant for the last decade for a number of companies in various industries.  Prior to that she and her husband owned a call center business where she managed several national accounts and served as the facilities manager opening new call centers.  She tries to always be customer focused whether it is an outside customer, vendor or fellow team member.

Lark Millward, Accounts Payable Associate

 

Lark came to Brown Community Management with an eclectic background having 10 years experience as a receptionist for various companies, teaching in the public school system as well as owning and operating a small business teaching music and performance.  These various experiences have given her a strong sense of customer service, organizational and leadership skills.  Lark has a Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Arizona University.  Lark has been a part of the Accounts Payable department for a year where she performs various customer service tasks for our communities and vendors.

 
 
 

 
Miguel Andrade, A/R & Customer Care Associate

Miguel comes to Brown Community Management with experience in both customer service and collections fields. Currently he works in the Customer Care department aiding homeowners with their accounts. Miguel is currently pursuing a degree in Psychology. Miguel’s integrity, honesty, excellent communication skills, and fluency in both Spanish and English make him a great addition to the Customer Care department.

Samantha Boteler, A/R & Customer Care Associate

Samantha joined Brown Community Management in 2009 with 10 years of experience in administration, management and finances within several diverse fields; including real estate and construction. She is currently pursuing a Degree in Business Administration while maintaining membership in Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She is a part of the Brown Management’s Customer Care Representatives and her efficiency and high work-ethic make her a great addition to the team.

Lori Bayless, Property Transfer Specialist

Lori is highly involved in the Brown Management team. Lori started her career in community management as an administrative assistant. It wasn’t long before she was transferred to the accounting department where she worked diligently in ensure her assigned community’s accounts payable needs are met. Currently Lori is working in our Resale Department.

Stacey Childers, CAAM, A/R & Customer Care Associate

Stacey joined our organization in 2007 with seventeen years of experience in administrative duties as well as event and training experience.  She started her career with Brown Community Management as a community consultant and quickly became interested in moving to the Customer Care department in order to assist homeowners with their HOA accounts.  She is a very organized individual and her strength in time management enables her to excel in any task she is assigned.

Shannon Ellerbusch, A/R & Customer Care Associate 

 

Shannon has over 15 years experience in customer service and collections management.  She has worked in automobile finance, banking, and a 3rd party collection agency.  Her problem-solving abilities and excellent people skills enable her to effectively communicate and assist homeowners.

Marisa Jimenez, A/R & Customer Care Associate

Marisa comes to Brown Management with seven years experience in customer service, and four years in office management.  Marisa graduated from Mesquite High School, in Gilbert, Arizona.  She enjoys interacting with our customers and is currently responsible for assisting homeowners with their assessment accounts.

Esther Untalasco, A/R & Customer Care Associate

Esther joinded our team in 2006.  She is a strong-minded individual with an Associates Degree in Business and Accounting. She is a hard worker who strives for accuracy and efficiency in her work. Esther's experience and dynamic people skills enable her to build positive relations with homeowners.

GeraLynn Carson, Property Transfer Specialist

With more than five years experience in the property management industry, GeraLynn is an asset to the Brown Management team.  She has extensive experience in the field of accounting including serving as manager of her department for a number of years.  Her experience and expertise in property management accounting make her a valuable asset to the communities she serves.

Liz Coughlin, Receptionist & Front Office Administration

Liz has several years in both customer service and administrative support. She is a firm believer in ensuring that everyone she helps receives assistance beyond their expectations. Liz is responsible for welcoming everyone as they enter Brown Community Management, answering calls and assisting where ever needed.


Taylre Chowning, Front Office Administration

Taylre Chowning comes to Brown Community Management with 4 years of Administrative experience, 2 years of collection experience and a vast knowledge of computer software. Taylre has been working on a dual Associates Degree in Biology and Chemistry. As a Document Retention Clerk Taylre's duties include scanning documents, processing mail, and helping with any administrative projects.

Megan Miller, Document Retention Lead & IT Specialist


Megan came to Brown Management with 4 years experience as an Administrative Assistant and Receptionist. Megan Graduated from Gilbert High School in the top 15% of her class and currently attends Chandler Gilbert Community College, majoring in Psychology. Her responsibilities include assisting managers with projects, answering phones, customer assistance, and processing mail.

Michael Boyle, Document Retention Clerk

Michael arrived at Brown Community Management with 3 years of computer experience and a great work ethic. Michael is currently working on obtaining a Business Degree at Mesa Community College. Michael is working as a Document Retention Clerk. Michael’s duties include scanning documents, processing mail, and helping with any administrative projects.

Mindy Straight, Accounting & IT Specialist

Mindy comes to Brown Community Management with nine years of experience as an executive administrative assistant in various industries.  She has an Associate’s Degree as a Medical Administrative Assistant from Iowa Western Community College.  Her organizational skills, positive attitude help her stay on task to get the job done.

Paula Tigner, Compliance Coordinator

Paula has worked in the community management industry since 2006. She has worked in various fields & positions in the customer service industry for 15 years. Paula currently assists the community managers by processing compliance letters and assists with office projects and training. Paula also manages our community’s gate systems. Her attention to detail and outgoing and caring personality make her an asset to our team.

 

 

Maintenance Support

 

 

Jon Heflin, Building Engineer

Jon has been in building maintenance for over 6 years, 5 of which he has served as maintenance supervisor as well as overseeing several apartment rehabs and condominium conversions. Prior to his career in property management he built custom motorcycles and worked in the aerospace industry. Jon is currently the Building Engineer for a luxury high rise condominium community overseeing the daily maintenance of all the building systems and assisting the Property Manager.
